Maves Construction purchased the lot at 507 E Aspen with a vision in mind. We knew the buyer of this home would likely be from out of town, it would likely be a second home and they would be Fruita “regulars” on the mountain bike scene. A forward-thinking mindset as well as a bend towards design and aesthetics were musts for this owner.
When we were called by the owner and we heard his background we instantly knew we had found our homeowner! He believed in our vision for the lot and ran with it. Through a few different reiterations of house plans Maves Construction took the Owner's design and ideas combined with our vision and were able to build him the perfect weekend home away.
The most common thing people say when they walk through this home is how “livable” it is even at just 686 sq. ft.

Parade of Homes 2017
The owners of this home purchased the lot with the intention of building their “forever” home in the future. After just around a year of owning it they decided it was time to start the process of designing their dream home. When they first met with Maves Construction and discussed their dreams and desires the initial plan was approximately 5500 sq. ft. Through multiple meetings with our in-house design team discussing their wants vs. needs the plan ultimately landed at approx 4000 sq. ft. You will see that the important things to these owners were room to raise their family, as well as room to grow. With two small children, it was important that they have designated space for the kids as well as his and hers spaces for mom and dad to be able to retreat to as well.
Camp Bird Mine
2018
Located outside of picturesque Ouray, CO on a mining claim at over 9000 ft elevation this dramatic timber frame cabin was framed mortise and tenon connected with oak pegs the same way the original miners may have built homes in 1896 when the mine was founded. This home provided many natural challenges including avalanche warnings, a short build season due to the early fall and late spring snowfall and a hair raising driveway with 3 switchbacks making material delivery difficult. We would say the finished home was well worth the challenges!
